I am a sophomore in the Residential College at the University of Michigan, pursuing a double major in American Culture and Social Theory and Practice with a minor in Writing (2018).

In an idyllic world, I would spend my time riding Amtrak cross country, following the sun westward as I sip English breakfast tea, listen to Simon and Garfunkel, and write cliched poetry. Due to time and budget constraints, I instead find myself sprinting between college responsibilities: I photograph campus activities for The Michigan Daily, teach third graders about dinosaurs at the UM Museum of Natural History, and facilitate a creative writing workshop at a local women’s prison.

On the side, I’m a semi-professional friendship bracelet maker with a tendency to spend Friday nights watching slam poetry on youtube. I enjoy reading Toni Morrison novels, writing feminist zines, eating sour gummy worms, and crushing the competition in Settlers of Catan. As I look toward my professional career, I hope to pursue my passions for independent publishing and editing, social justice organizing, and journalism.
